Procurement Associate, Interior Design

General Job Description:
The Procurement Associate will work with the Senior Project Managers to coordinate the procurement needs for design projects.  

  • Procurement

    • Work under direction of Senior Project Managers to coordinate procurement of FF&E for client projects utilizing Design Manager software.

      • Assist with identification of furnishings, finishes and fabric palettes.

      • Facilitate vendor communication for sourcing, pricing and proposal documentation.

      • Coordinate required alterations such as upholstery, painting, etc.

      • Prepare client proposal for purchase.

      • Prepare vendor purchase orders and coordinate associated approvals with Senior Project Manager.  

      • Facilitate moving logistics and installation schedule.   

      • Maintain budget and cost tracking in coordination with client’s expectations.  

      • Oversee timely completion, and delivery and/or installation to project site.  Some lifting will be required.  

    • Maintain documentation of correspondence, specification selections, finish samples, fabric palettes, and drawings.

    • Prepare project boards for presentation to client.

    • Update AutoCad drawing files with procurement documentation details.  

  • Design Development

    • Assist with development of custom furniture, furnishings, and lighting for design project procurement as needed.

    • Prepare detailed hand drawings, AutoCAD drawings, and SketchUp modeling to convey aesthetic design intent to trade fabricators.  

    • Coordinate shop drawing review with team members.

  • Administrative

    • Answer incoming calls, assist with mailings, scheduling, and additional duties as requested.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum two-three years of experience in interior design or architecture directly managing client project FF&E often working with high levels of customization.,

  • Four year degree in interior design, architecture, or related field.

  • NCIDQ (National Council of Interior Design Qualifications) Certification and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification a plus.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Highly organized, accurate, and neat in all aspects of the job.

  • Works well under pressure; able to multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet deadlines.  

  • Able to follow through on multiple projects with both short-term and long-term objectives.

  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of interior design.

  • Residential experience required; commercial experience a plus.

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD and hand drafting; including floor plans, furniture plans, millwork detail drawings, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, custom furniture designs, and perspective drawings. Proficiency in Revit a plus.

  • Proficient in Design Manager software a plus.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with a strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.

  • Works well in a collaborative setting.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; however, must also be able to work independently and proactively on projects without supervision using tact and discretion.

  • Respectful, mature, reliable, and responsible.

  • Available to work additional hours, as occasionally required to meet deadlines.

  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
